This guide is to help you wire our dimmers.

Inline Rotary Style Dimmers
Step 1: Turn the dimmer upside down and remove the 2 screws hold the lid on.
Step 2: Either end of the dimmer you will find a cord grip strap held into position with 2 screws, these screws will need to be removed.
Step 3: You will need to strip the cables to the following lengths:
- Note: Double over the cable once stripped leaving 5mm of copper, so strip 10mm and fold it in half leaving 5mm for the connection.

Step 4: Wire the dimmer as per the picture below:
- The mains supply into the dimmer is the connection on the RIGHT
- The output cable is the connection on the LEFT
Step 5: After wiring you will need to clamp the cable into position.
You must ensure that the outer PVC jacket of the cable is sitting under this strap when installing it back on, you must NOT have the 3 individual wires under the strap.
Images below show the correct and incorrect way of doing this task.
As you can see the cord grip on the left (Black) cable is correct, however the cord grip on the right hand side (gold) cable is not correct.
Inline LED Dimmers
Step 1: Turn the dimmer upside down and remove the 2 screws hold the lid on.
Step 2: Either end of the dimmer you will find a cord grip strap held into position with 2 screws, these screws will need to be removed.
Step 3: You will need to strip the cables to the following lengths:
- Note: Double over the cable once stripped leaving 5mm of copper, so strip 10mm and fold it in half leaving 5mm for the connection.

Step 4: Wire the dimmer as per the picture below:
- The mains supply into the dimmer is the connection on the LEFT
- The output cable is the connection on the RIGHT
Step 5: After wiring you will need to clamp the cable into position.
You must ensure that the outer PVC jacket of the cable is sitting under this strap when installing it back on, you must NOT have the 2 individual wires under the strap.
Images below show the correct and incorrect way of doing this task.
As you can see the cord grip on the left (Black) cable is correct, however the cord grip on the right hand side (gold) cable is not correct.
Foot Floor Dimmers
Step 1: Separate the dimmer, the screws will not be in the back of the unit they come separately in a small bag.
Step 2: Y
ou will need to strip the cables to the following lengths:
- Note: Double over the cable once stripped leaving 5mm of copper, so strip 10mm and fold it in half leaving 5mm for the connection.
Step 3: Wire the dimmer as per the picture below:
- The mains supply into the dimmer is the connection on the RIGHT
- The output cable to the light is the connection on the LEFT
Step 4: After wiring you will need to clamp the cable into position - clamps and screws are in the small bag of bits.
You must ensure that the outer PVC jacket of the cable is sitting under this strap when installing it back on, you must NOT have the 2 individual wires under the strap.
Image below show the correct and incorrect way of doing this task.
As you can see the left hand side is correct as the outer PVC jacket is sitting under the cord grip.
Step 5: When placing the cover back onto the dimmer ensure the sliders are aligned.
Tip
Slide the Slider on the dimmer body fully one way and repeat this with the slider unit on the cover this way when you put the two together they will align.
Step 6: Once you have the cover clipped on and confirmed the sliders are aligned, flip the unit upside down and use the 2 screws to hold the the cover to the body.
Step 7: This is optional but you can place the 2 sticky pads underneath the dimmer, these are to protect the surface you are placing the dimmer on.
12v Dimmer
Step 1: Separate the dimmer, the screws will not be in the back of the unit they come separately in a small bag.
Step 2: You will need to strip the cables to the following lengths:
- Note: Double over the cable once stripped leaving 5mm of copper, so strip 10mm and fold it in half leaving 5mm for the connection.

Step 3: Wire the dimmer as per the picture below:
- The mains supply into the dimmer is the connection on the LEFT
- The 12v output cable is the connection on the RIGHT
It does not matter which way around the + and - cable goes on the 12v side
Step 4: After wiring you will need to clamp the cable into position - clamps and screws are in the small bag of bits.
You must ensure that the outer PVC jacket of the cable is sitting under this strap when installing it back on, you must NOT have the 2 individual wires under the strap.
Images below show the correct and incorrect way of doing this task.
Step 5: When placing the cover back onto the dimmer ensure the sliders are aligned.
Tip
